Condition: Dilated pores

What is it?

Acne is caused by inflammation of the sebaceous glands, which, when clogged, increase the proliferation of the bacterium Propionibacterium Acnes, leading to skin eruptions. Acne can last for months or even years, and affects teenagers and adults alike.

Did you know that?

Dilated pores are also a question of genetics: the health of our skin therefore depends in part on our heredity and even our ethnic origin!

Use of unsuitable topical products

Due to a lack of cell regeneration and excessive sebum production, pore dilation can be explained by three factors:

Use of unsuitable topical products

When products are applied to the skin that don't correspond to its needs, it has trouble balancing and breathing! This is the case, for example, with a moisturizing cream that's too oily for our skin type, thus accentuating sebum production.

Skin aging

Over time, the skin produces less collagen and skin cells regenerate less rapidly. Skin structure also changes, and pores become more apparent.

Bad lifestyle habits

Outer health starts from the inside... The effects of a sedentary lifestyle that stresses both body and mind, such as a diet too rich in lipids or the consumption of alcohol and tobacco, become visible: the skin loses its tone and its texture becomes more apparent.

How to prevent?

To better control sebum production, gentle cleansing twice a day is recommended. Also, weekly exfoliation and masks are good ways to refine skin texture. Finally, treating the skin to clinical treatments every 6 to 8 weeks, such as a glycolic peel or microdermabrasion, for example, cleanses the skin deeply, tightens pores and stimulates collagen production. The result is visibly healthier skin.

Eating well, reducing alcohol and tobacco consumption as much as possible, regular physical activity and taking care of your skin with an adapted beauty routine are all elements that promote healthy skin. Skin cells are better oxygenated and regenerate faster, collagen production is stimulated... skin is clearly smoother and softer!

How to treat?

Resurfacing lasers

Non-ablative skin resurfacing lasers such as Clear + Brilliant®, Venus VivaTM or Fraxel® encourage the skin to regenerate naturally by creating subcutaneous micro-perforations. New collagen and skin structure are formed, dramatically reducing scars, stretch marks and pigmentation spots.

Glycolic peel

The glycolic peel is an exfoliating treatment that helps to tighten pores and prevent acne breakouts. Glycolic acid, a fruit acid derivative, works on the surface to dissolve dead skin cells, but also deeper down to stimulate natural collagen production. As a result, skin is smoother and more permeable to the products used.
